World Touring Cars

Since August 2004, RML have proudly run the Chevrolet World Touring Car programme for Chevrolet Europe, designing, building, developing, and race managing the Lacetti World Touring Car.

The 2007 season was record-breaking for RML Chevrolet, with seven wins shared between Alain Menu (five), Rob Huff (1) and Rickard Rydell (1), five pole positions for Alain Menu, who also led the most laps over the course of the season (64).

Over its four-year career , the Chevrolet Lacetti scored 14 wins, 37 podium finishes and a total of 652 points towards the Manufacturers' Championship. Of these 14 wins, two were triple victories where Chevrolet wiped out the podium. Eight pole positions and nine fastest race laps complete the impressive statistics for Chevrolet in the FIA WTCC. Outside of the WTCC, the Chevrolet Lacetti also won the 2008 FIA European Touring Car Cup, the 2006 German Touring Car Championship, and the 2008 Danish Touring Car Championship in the Teams standings. Other than regular team drivers Alain Menu, Rob Huff and Nicola Larini, Chevrolet Lacettis were also successfully driven by Rickard Rydell, Max Orido, Michael Nykjaer, Vincent Radermecker, Michael Outzen, Henrik Lundgaard, Maria De Villota, Tomas Schie, Rainer Bastuck, Harry Vaulkhard and Matt Allison.

RML and Chevrolet continue their partnership , and are aiming to challenge for WTCC championship glory in 2009 with the exciting all new Chevrolet Cruze.

Through RML’s rigorous development scheme, the cars have proved extremely competitive on all surfaces, and the team manages a dedicated support program providing rally teams worldwide with engineering support, new parts, and cars.
