RML, as Racing Silverline in 2009, have won the TouringCarTimes readers poll for Best Team last season - after a brilliant year which saw them come close to taking the title.
'TouringCarTimes' explained:
In the initial round of voting within series, Racing Silverline won your vote, beating Team RAC & Airwaves BMW - and so were put to the vote against the winning classes in the DTM, Swedish & World Touring Car Championships.
In that round, you again voted Racing Silverline as the best team in international touring car racing in 2009, taking the win with over 36% of the vote from 2008's winner, SEAT Sport Spain.
Receiving the trophy at the Rockingham circuit, RML's Sponsorship & Marketing Director, Rupert Manwaring, said:
"This is a really nice surprise, last year's British Touring Car effort was a last minute thing, and it grew organically as the season went on."
"It was one of the most enjoyable seasons we've ever had, and the results were terrific - and it obviously encouraged us to enter again this year."
"But to be recognised like this is such a really nice surprise."
Now the Silverline Chevrolet team, the team has gone on to gather a strong haul of points and the first victory in the BTCC for the Chevrolet Cruze at the Rockingham Motorspeedway - and now lead both the drivers and constructors championships.
