Making the Cruze

Jason Plato has taken a fantastic victory in the Silverline Chevrolet Cruze in race two of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship today at Rockingham.
Launching off the grid from 3rd, Jason powered through to the lead, where he remained to the chequered flag.
With tyre wear a consistent problem at this track, particularly felt by the front-wheel drive cars, Jason controlled the pace throughout, just easing over the final laps to preserve the tyres. An opportunistic bump from Collard's BMW on the last corner of the last lap did little to throw Jason off course as he raced to victory, handing the Silverline Chevrolet team, and the Cruze, the first victory in the hugely popular BTCC.
In the sister Cruze, Alex enjoyed some close racing, starting in P12 he was climbing up the field, an enthusiastic battle with Johnson however resulted in an off track moment which dropped him down to P18. He fought back to finish P12 lapping within 2 tenths of Jason's times.
