Menu 2^nd- fastest in Curitiba's testing session, with Muller 4^th and Huff 5^th

CURITIBA, 5^th March 2010 – The Chevrolet team had a very promising start of the WTCC season, as the three Cruzes made it in the top five in today's testing session in Curitiba. Alain Menu was second-fastest behind local hero Augusto Farfus, while Yvan Muller was 4^th and Rob Huff 5^th.  

During a humid and hot Brazilian afternoon, the session ran smoothly for the three Cruzes, and the three drivers collected precious information to further adjust the set-up of the cars to this very technical track, its conditions and the weather. Free practice and qualifying will take place tomorrow and deliver the first official ranking of 2010.

Alain Menu (2^nd): "It was a good session, with no problems at all, and we have proved that we are competitive, although Farfus was very fast today. We now have to work and improve the balance in tight corners and we will have to pay attention to the weather forecast, as rain may come and completely change the state of things".   

Yvan Muller (4^th): "I am satisfied with how things went today. As usual in Curitiba, we had to adapt to hot weather conditions, which have an effect on drivers but also on cars and their behavior. In these conditions, some understeering is normal and we have to correct this. For the rest, I had to adapt to a car that is new to me on this track, but I felt very comfortable and I only wish to make some slight adjustments regarding the gearbox ratios".   

Rob Huff (5^th): "It's a very good first result for the team and I am very pleased with the pace we had. I spent the session trying to get a feel for the car on the track and not pushing too hard, and I am very happy with the first response and lap times. It's a good basis to start working from for tomorrow's qualifying and the races on Sunday".
