PLATO’S RACING SILVERLINE CHEVROLET LACETTI TO STAR AT AUTOSPORT INTERNATIONAL SHOW

11/01/2010

RML have today confirmed their presence at the hugely popular annual Autosport International Show held at Birmingham's NEC from the 14th-17th January 2010.

Representing RML's prolific participation in touring cars over the years, Jason Plato's 2009 race-winning Racing Silverline Chevrolet Lacetti will join the eye-catching Dunlop stand that is sure to draw in the crowds with an impressive display of machinery whilst playing host to a great line up of guest appearances and interviews.

The 2009 season made for great reading for the Wellingborough-based RML Group, having entered as a small one-car team and expanding to a dominant three-car outfit in a matter of weeks.  Lodging its entry just days before the season opener at Brands back in April, the team entered as the championship outsider.  Yet as the year unfolded, the RML-run Chevrolet Lacetti proved its pace and carved an enviable record of great achievements, including the first RML 1-2-3 race result in the BTCC and the first triple-race victory for RML, Jason and Chevrolet at the championship deciding finale of Brands Hatch over three months ago.

The teams' unforgettable europhia following the final race at Brands will be clear for all to see at the show, as Jason's Lacetti makes its appearance complete with authentic dent from his post-race roof celebrations!

Although driver appearances are yet to be confirmed, there is hope several BTCC giants will be in attendance, including hugely successful sister-Chevrolet Lacetti drivers, Mat Jackson and James Nash.

RML's Chevrolet Cruze WTCC star, Rob Huff, is also rumoured to be attending the show.

Forming part of the Autosport Engineering Show that runs from the 14th-15th, RML's 2006-2008 Le Mans Series & Le Mans 24 hrs entrant, the MG-Lola EX265 will also be displayed, on the Racecar Engineering stand – E221.

Powered by the MG XP21 2.0 litre turbo charged engine, the EX265 took LMP2 class honours at the 74th Le Mans 24hrs, which proved to be a hugely rewarding and much celebrated achievement at such a prestigious event.

Another victorious year followed during the team's 2007 campaign, in which RML took race winning honours at the highly regarded 1000km of Nurburgring and 1000km of Spa events.  The team triumphed as Le Mans Series Champions of the LMP2 class that year.

With the 2010 season just around the corner, RML look forward to yet more successes and aim to build further on what has been an impressive 25-year career to date.  For all the latest news on RML's projects and partnerships, visit www.rmlmallock.co.uk or follow us on Twitter.com
