The dedication of a committed marshal has been honoured by the 2007 Le Mans Series champions RML Group.
Johnny Redon, a Le Mans Circuit marshal who supported 50 days of on-track activity over the course of the last season, has been awarded with the RML Group 'Marshal of the Year Award', in association with Monsieur Michel Cheverau, President of the Association des Commissaire de Route (ACRCPO), Circuit de Piste de l'Ouest.
The award was presented by Daniel Poissenot, ACO Sporting Director and Deputy General Manager, on behalf of RML.
Johnny becomes the second recipient of the award, following in the footsteps of Jacques Alanic, who claimed the inaugural prize in 2006. Johnny will receive a replica of the trophy in recognition of his achievement, with the original being kept at the head offices of the ACRCPO.
As well as winning the 2007 LMP2 class of the Le Mans Series, RML are back-to-back winners of the Le Mans 24 Hours, winning LMP2 in both 2005 and 2006.
