Jason Plato took a fantastic double victory in today’s MSA British Touring Car Championship races at Snetterton, propelling him back into the championship lead as Matt Neal’s hopes of strong results flailed with a puncture from the first race. Jason now leads with 151 points, 20 points clear of Neal.

The second half of the MSA British Touring Car Championship season resumed with a flying start for tomorrow’s first of three races as Alex MacDowall’s stunning drive in the wet allowed him to clinch his first pole in his BTCC campaign, making him the youngest ever driver in the BTCC to do so at 19 years of age.

The Chevrolet team experienced another successful day in Brno, as Rob Huff won with authority Race 1 on the Czech circuit, after taking the pole yesterday. This is the fourth win this season for the RML-prepared Cruze and the first for the British driver.

Chevrolet kept faithful to its tradition of success in Brands Hatch, by taking a win in the Kent circuit for the fifth consecutive year. Yvan Muller and Rob Huff dominated Race 1, claiming a brilliant one-two and the third win of the season. Most importantly, today’s excellent results allow Muller and the Cruzes to reinforce their respective leading positions in the Drivers’ and Manufacturers’ standings of the WTCC.
