Please note that RML is a motorsport company and staff can expect to work long and/or unsociable hours.  There will be occasions when staff may be asked to work weekends and away from the company's site at race meetings, both in the UK and abroad.

Description

The RML Inspection Department is responsible for verifying the conformity to drawing standards of all parts supplied by our internal Machining / Fabrication department or our external suppliers.  The components range from 5-axis milled items through to welded suspension components and composite bodywork items.  As well as general inspection duties, using both manual and automated inspection techniques, the successful candidate will be required to pro-actively highlight non-conformance issues.  This will involve providing feedback as required in order to ensure an efficient solution to problems and also assisting with the prevention of their re-occurrence.  Other duties will include assisting with the monitoring and instigation of calibration schedules, as well as the recording of supplier performance and assisting with processes to improve levels of conformity.

The successful candidate should be highly motivated and enjoy working in an area where striving to improve has a direct effect upon the company's activities.

Skills 

• A minimum of 3 years' practical experience of CNC CMM and manual inspection.
• High levels of skill with Microsoft family software as well as an understanding of MRP / ERP systems.
• Experience of motorsport inspection, including machined high tolerance components, fabricated and composite components is desirable
• Knowledge of Quality Assurance techniques would be a benefit.
• The ability to record data both by hand and electronically in a clear and detailed manner in line with company procedures.
• An understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes and techniques.
• Competent in associated activities such as calibration, Quality Assurance and providing feedback in line with the company's "Visions and Values".

Qualifications

HNC / HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
