RML Group are one of the motorsport industry’s ‘quiet giants’, with a breadth and depth of experience, expertise, and success matched by few other companies. Skilled at every racing discipline and with a proven track record as a lead or supporting partner on a wide range of projects, RML contract with major automakers to support their motorsport and marketing objectives through the design, production, development, and operation of competition cars on their behalf. Past and present clients include Aston Martin, Vauxhall, Opel, Nissan, Saleen, Chevrolet, and Mercedes-Benz.

The results over the last three decades have included victories in every category and championship we have contested, in arenas as diverse as touring cars, GTs, sports prototypes, rallying, and stock cars. What sets us apart from our competitors is our commitment to teamwork, integrity, continuous improvement, efficiency, exceeding client expectations – and will to win.

In addition to our motorsport contracts, RML also undertake a wide variety of high-performance road car engineering projects (often on a confidential basis) for clients such as Saleen, Nissan, and Chevrolet. Over time, RML has grown into a diversified group, with recent expansion into race engine development and motorsport event management.

RML Group grew out of the motorsport activities of the Mallock family dating back to 1936, when Major Arthur Mallock fielded his first Austin 7-based special. 1958 saw the debut of the legendary U2 series of club racers, which launched the careers of dozens of successful drivers and engineers. Brothers Richard and Ray Mallock followed in their father’s footsteps in the 1970s, both winning championships at the wheel of cars bearing the Mallock name.

Ray Mallock built a successful career behind the wheel, climbing the single-seater ladder on his way to becoming a professional driver with the Aston Martin Group C sportscar programme. He later led Ecurie Ecosse’s successful assault on the World Sportscar Championship’s C2 division. Along the way, he set up his own motorsport business to take advantage of his combined engineering and driving skills, which initially supported the Aston Martin effort and evolved into today’s RML Group.
