RML Invests in Energy Storage Design and Manufacturing Facility
Wellingborough (UK) – 3rd March 2017:
RML Group has expanded its EV (Electronic Vehicle) capabilities in a 10,000sqft facility in Wellingborough. The factory known as ‘Unit 3’ will create additional jobs providing further investment in the local community. The facility is capable of providing EV energy storage solutions for both motorsport and automotive projects.
Director of Powertrain Arnaud Martin who is leading the projects comments, ‘This is a fantastic investment for us in the future of high voltage energy storage. The facility will enable us to design and manufacture pouch cell and cylindrical cell based automotive batteries. We utilise our innovative control solutions to provide batteries of the highest performance with our attention to detail and speed of delivery’.
RML Chief Executive, Michael Mallock ‘RML’s new facility enables us to continue our investment in Hybrid and Electric vehicle capability. The battery manufacturing facility gives us enabling technology for pure EV and Hybrid whole vehicle integration, strengthening RML Group’s expertise in motorsport and automotive sectors’.
The new facility is part of a five year investment programme which will expand the capacity and testing functionality using leading edge technology and automation.
