WELLINGBOROUGH [UK] – Tuesday 6 May 2014: RML today congratulates Münnich Motorsport on their tremendous weekend success, during which former Formula 1 driver, Gianni Morbidelli, powered the RML-Cruze to victory in the FIA World Touring Car Championship.
Marking the first 2014 victory for the team and indeed the RML designed and built TC1 Cruze, Morbidelli mastered the ‘Ring beautifully with lights to flag dominance, despite the ever-present Honda of Tiago Monteiro in second.
It was a strong weekend all round for the RML customer teams, with the resurgent Tom Coronel taking a fourth place finish in the second race, demonstrating a clear desire to put the disappointment of Marrakech behind him. Another impressive performance from Campos driver, Hugo Valente, enabled the Frenchman to secure a return visit to the podium in third.
The paddock moves on to the Slovakiaring for Rounds 7 & 8 this coming weekend.
