Saleen required RML’s all-encompassing capabilities to design and manufacture America’s first ever road going supercar, the Saleen S7.
Built alongside a racing counterpart, the S7R, Saleen’s desire was to conquer the American Le Mans Series’ (ALMS) OEM entries from Chevrolet and Corvette, and GTO competitors within Grand American (Grand-AM). In just nine months, the S7 was designed and manufactured for its press debut in Canada.
RML made Saleen’s concept a reality. The S7R’s first shakedown took place just one month later after the S7’s press debut, winning races and consequent GT championships from the outset. RML’s racing success amplified the S7s appeal, making America’s first ever supercar an extremely desirable one.
